Children's Book Drive for St. Nicholas
Join the book drive by Charitable Foundation "Caritas Odesa UGCC" for children most affected by war!
War began in 2014 and thousands were forced to leave homes. Many came to Odesa. Our foundation provided comprehensive aid to evacuees and naturally we sought to help parents preserve their children's childhood. For eight years now, we've organized St. Nicholas Day celebrations with book drives for kids. Thus our "100 Helpers of St. Nicholas" campaign was born — we needed to collect 100 books for 100 children.
Then, as subsequently, we managed to engage donors, celebrities and businesses in our drive, but this year military collections remain priority.
Supporting and understanding this, we still want to organize celebrations for young visitors to our children's centers: sons and daughters of fallen and missing soldiers, plus evacuated children. We believe good children's stories can comfort, support and restore faith that evil will be punished and good will triumph.
We now aim to collect 300 books for children of various ages currently in Odesa region. We ask you to help make this happen.
We need to raise 30,000 UAH to purchase children's books that kids will receive at the St. Nicholas Day celebration on December 6th. This initiative also supports Ukrainian publishers and promotes Ukrainian books and reading among youth.
