Fire Circle

The idea of the "Fire Circle " project is to involve veterans and active military personnel in hikes and mountain climbing for mountain therapy and honoring the memory of fallen brothers and sisters with a living Fire.
War greatly changes human psychology. Some military personnel returning from the front face post-traumatic syndrome, feelings of guilt, aggression, suppressed and unreleased emotions, depression, and tendency toward social isolation.
The role of family, volunteers and therapists is very important and irreplaceable in this issue. Often, the first people who participate in veterans' reintegration, support them and provide a sense of safety - are relatives, loved ones and friends.
Depending on needs, individual or group therapy, art methods, sports activities, professional reorientation are used.
Successful recovery begins with a supportive environment. There are many initiatives and specialized centers for veteran recovery and rehabilitation, as well as many rehabilitation approaches that are effective. The most effective are those that combine psychological, social and professional support.
One effective rehabilitation method is mountain therapy. Being in a natural environment, particularly in mountains, serves to improve physical and mental health of people who have suffered physically or morally.
The project aims to provide support to veterans and military personnel and create conditions for social unity, namely: climbing mountain peaks in groups consisting of veterans, military personnel, recruits and accompanying project team members for joint discussion of experiences among military personnel, sharing experience among recruits and future military personnel, engaging therapeutic practices with psychologists, lighting a living Fire to honor the memory of the Fallen.
We offer a comprehensive approach to psychological reset of project participants:
accompaniment by loved ones, psychologists, recruits, those wishing to join the army; space for reflections and honest dialogues;
honoring the memory of fallen Heroes by participants carrying firewood for lighting the fire;
shared dinner in the mountains;
recorded memories of the climb.
Thus our project is about creating a safe environment, support and restoration of spirit of veterans and military personnel, and most importantly - about improving social communications.
Our goal - to involve as many veterans and active military personnel as possible in mountain therapy and honor the memory of their fallen brothers and sisters in the circle of living Fire.
We call on you to join the fundraising for the "Fire Circle" project to support AFU veterans and military personnel.
