Warm houses for homeless animals
Launched on: 25.12.2015

In winter, homeless animals have a particularly hard time. Besides food and water, they also have to look for places sheltered from wind and snow to sleep and restore their strength, as in cold weather the most terrible enemy for street animals is physical exhaustion.

It is precisely due to the lack of opportunity for full sleep that they most often perish.

As one of the stages of the large-scale project "Systematic solution to the homeless animals problem", and also based on feedback and suggestions from volunteers, animal rights activists and guardians, we placed a pilot project "Warm houses for homeless animals" on the "My City" platform.

The implementation results exceeded our expectations and even more - the project received support and raised one and a half times more than the stated amount, which only proves the urgency of the problem and the need for its further implementation.

Therefore, it was decided to extend the project.

The stated amount of the pilot project was calculated for 4 houses, since the project raised more, we increased the number of houses by another 4, accordingly the initial amount doubled.

The general estimate and average cost of 1 house are available via link.

The expense report for manufacturing the first 4 houses can be viewed via link.

1. Street animals will be able to survive in winter.

2. Implementation of one of the stages of the large-scale project "Systematic solution to the homeless animals problem".

3. This is a step that will bring our city closer to generally accepted civilized norms of animal treatment.

4. In further project development, beautiful small house-booths placed on central streets may become an additional city decoration.

To help street animals survive the frost, we will install small insulated booth-houses at specific city locations. We'll start with areas distant from urban structures, as it's in such places that animals find it hardest to find places where they can hide and warm up.
