Big future of small hearts

Every year in Ukraine about 10 thousand children are born with congenital heart defects. Therefore charity fund "Dobrobut-Foundation" launches fundraising to save these little hearts.
The vast majority of these children can have a full healthy life in the future if they are operated on in time. In the "Dobrobut" medical network, such complex operations as closure of ventricular septal defect and mitral valve repair in children are performed minimally invasively. That is, without traumatic large sternotomy.
The incision in minimally invasive heart surgery is 5 times smaller than in conventional surgery, plus there is no chest bone trauma. The child experiences much less pain and stress. After minimally invasive surgery rehabilitation is much faster. The next day after surgery children can walk, on the third-fourth day the child can return home. The surgery leaves no visible scars, only minor traces that become almost invisible over time.
Cardiac surgeon Oleksandr Bablyak performs minimally invasive operations on children with congenital heart defects in the "Dobrobut" medical network.
Unique author's methodology of minimally invasive operations, thanks to which patients receive less trauma and recover much faster.
Operations on over 200 patients over the last 7 years with mortality less than 0.5%
Full spectrum of cardiac surgical interventions in both adults and children, including newborns.
Program cost:
One child's operation costs 110,000 UAH.
The cost is reduced due to the fact that the entire "Dobrobut" team involved in the operation (doctors, junior medical staff, managers) works on a volunteer basis.
The project raises funds for surgery for three children.
Program implementation period: unlimited.
