"Under One Roof": roof repair at the Adaptation Center for homeless and released from prison

"Light of Hope" — is a charity that has been operating in Poltava region since 1999. We provide a wide range of social services and support the public health system. The organization works in many areas, including public health and social protection.

Our mission — to promote positive changes in society through advocacy, NGO development, social entrepreneurship, humanitarian aid and effective use of budget funds.

One of the key initiatives of the charity "Light of Hope" is the Adaptation Center for homeless and former prisoners.

Here find shelter internally displaced persons, those who faced lack of permanent housing, or were released after imprisonment.

The Center's goal — providing comprehensive support for quick adaptation to social environment and creating decent conditions for residents.

Unfortunately, currently the Center's funding is provided only by local budget, and this funding doesn't cover repair costs and equipment purchases. This leads to problems, particularly roof leaking in the Center building. This situation seriously worsens residents' living conditions, especially during rains, when the leaking roof increases humidity indoors. This can lead to fungus spread and increase disease risk among residents.

The main goal of this project is to fix roof damage and conduct repair work that will improve living conditions and ensure safety and health of people receiving help at "Light of Hope" Adaptation Center.
