Conscious dog owners for city cleanliness
Low levels of culture and legal awareness have led to our city literally drowning in dog excrement.
Dog owners, walking their pets on city streets and sidewalks, in parks and squares, in all green zones, flower beds, lawns and even near playgrounds and recreation areas, don't think it necessary to clean up their waste. As a result, it's extremely difficult to find areas in the city, even just a few square meters, that aren't generously "decorated" with dog excrement.
Such condition of the urban environment cannot but be outrageous. And the reason isn't just aesthetic. It's well known that animal feces are harmful to human health: they carry parasites and are sources of infectious diseases. Large amounts of such "product" poison the soil, water and oxygen. High levels of Odesa's pollution with dog excrement also extremely negatively affects the image of the seaside resort city.
We cannot allow Odesa to turn into one big dog toilet and see the need to raise this problem to a city-wide level. We need to attract maximum public attention to it and begin fighting to clean our streets, parks, green zones. Odesa residents have the right to live in a clean city and we intend to realize this right.
