Platecar 2.0 - car that collects products
Hello! We are NGO "TARILKA". The first food bank in Ukraine, operating in Lviv since 2019.
In cooperation with stores and food producers, we form packages that include products near expiration date, and freely distribute them to those in need. This way we help socially vulnerable population groups and reduce the amount of organic waste.
Since we opened our Food Distribution Center in August 2021 and got our "Platecar", we daily collected products near expiration from partner stores, brought them to the Distribution Center, sorted and packed food packages for those in need. The platecar's "Route of Good" allowed us to help 30 people in need daily or provide assistance to 660 Ukrainians monthly.
Several days after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, we gave our platecar to the 80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade of Lviv to meet their urgent need for transportation.
We started collecting aid and sending it to residents of cities most affected by bombings. We also provided aid to our military in Eastern and Southern Ukraine. But we need to restore our organization's work as a food bank. Today in Lviv the need for aid grows daily due to the number of internally displaced persons. Currently our database has over 4000 registered people in need. So today we need a platecar to help process these requests on a regular basis.
