House of Hope: Stray Animal Sterilization

Due to Russia's illegal invasion of Ukraine and with the author's agreement, 4490 UAH was transferred to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Did you know that most stray animals currently on the streets or in shelters were once pets?
To address this problem, humane societies use animal population control through sterilization, including pets. This method of controlling stray animal populations is proven effective, recognized by experts and international organizations, and has many benefits.

Sterilization and castration positively impacts four-legged friends' physical health - such animals live 3-5 years longer on average and are less prone to cancer. Positive behavioral changes also occur: cats usually stop marking territory, dogs become calmer and can freely interact with opposite-sex companions.

For stray animals, sterilization is mandatory to reduce population.

"HOUSE OF HOPE" NGO was founded by four Kharkiv volunteers: Ivanenko Nelya, Variukhina Valentina, Parshina Tetiana and Panyuta Olga based on two mini-shelters in August 2021. In six months, the organization sterilized 102 animals. Through such steps, "HOUSE OF HOPE" NGO humanely and caringly reduces street strays.
Our main goal is sterilizing and placing sterilized cats and dogs in loving families with appropriate conditions. We also joined Glad Pet, an online stray animal adoption service.

We contracted sterilization and castration services with "SOS" veterinary clinic.

We also plan to contract with a KhTZ district clinic since animals come from Chuguev, simplifying logistics. We fully report surgery numbers and costs on our social media.

This year we want to continue sterilizing animals and placing them with loving owners in good conditions.
However, we lack funds for such activities and earnestly ask every caring citizen to support our initiative with donations or share information about our project. Help us raise 18,300 UAH to sterilize 15 stray cats and 15 stray dogs and give them a chance for happy family life.
