GladPet: systemic solution for stray animals in Odessa

The main idea is to solve the main problem of shelters: that they are overcrowded. To do this, we need to help them place animals faster. For this, in turn, we need to make residents want, know and be able to find a pet in one place that they will take into their family. Alongside this, we can do a number of other things that will systematically solve the problem of homeless animals.
Besides usual methods, an online resource GladPet.org was created which allows:
- conveying information to city residents on how everyone can fight the problem of homeless animals with civilized methods;
- speeding up the process of placing animals from shelters into families;
- changing the city population's mindset from "buy an animal" to "take an animal from a shelter";
- posting ads about finding owners for a pet or its disappearance;
- providing opportunity to financially support shelters;
- viewing list of items needed for shelter operations;
- finding veterinary clinic for animal sterilization.
Each web service visitor can not only take an animal home but also provide "targeted help" or take a pet under guardianship. For example, provide material help to buy food or toys for a specific animal, with subsequent photo documentation of this toy/food on the site.
The city has operating private shelters. Almost all are unfortunately overcrowded. You can learn about them or choose a pet from a shelter at GladPet.org.
And here's an excellent video about homeless animals by Odessa resident Yulia Kozlovskaya:
1. Large numbers of homeless dogs and cats with no one to care for them.
2. Lack of coordination for many proactive people wanting to help homeless animals.
3. Insufficient funding of existing animal shelters.
4. Lack of information about Odessa's private shelters, of which there are actually many in the city.
