Sewing machines for social project "Gudzyk"

Hello! We are students of ONU named after Mechnikov and have been working on the social project "Gudzyk" for 6 months.

"Gudzyk" is a Ukrainian brand of felt hand-made accessories produced by elderly people.

Most modern retirees, as surveys show, can sew on sewing machines and many still want to use these skills to improve their quality of life. We teach grandmothers to produce items specifically for the created brand "Gudzyk". During this time we worked with 6 grandmothers who are still actively participating in the project.

Unfortunately, most of our grandmothers' sewing machines have served for more than a dozen years. And although this rarely affects the quality of products, some grandmothers have to put in much more effort and time to make them. Moreover, not all grandmothers who expressed a desire to participate in the project have their own machines. Therefore, it's necessary to purchase at least several new sewing machines to ease the work of involved grandmothers and give everyone interested a chance to try this activity.

We plan to place 2 machines in our future workshop to allow as many retirees as possible to be involved in the project and facilitate training. The rest will be given to grandmothers who need them most.
