"Shur-shur" - soft recycling furniture

Due to russia's illegal invasion of Ukraine and with the author's consent, 13703.00 UAH was transferred to support Kharkiv territorial defense.
At a time when eco-trends and conscious consumption are gradually becoming fashionable. When young people switch to using reusable shopping bags instead of disposable ones, trying to protect natural resources and invent eco-friendly alternatives for packaging and exhaustible energy sources.

Some problems remain, like waste that cannot be recycled!
Yes, part of product packaging is not recycled because it's technically impossible or such packaging is unprofitable to collect and send to recycling facilities.
Usually such waste is simply buried and decomposes slowly for centuries, polluting land, water and adjacent territories.

Our organization Kharkiv Zero Waste really wants to change this. When we founded a network of eco-hubs - stations for educational activities and sorting recyclables, we again faced the same problem that for a significant amount of waste, even with sorted collection initiatives, it's impossible to find production that would accept it for recycling.
We thought about this for a long time and found a solution!

Our idea: launch production of ottomans and recycling soft furniture made from recyclables and prevent environmental pollution.
First, this direction will allow us to recycle the type of packaging we usually refused to accept.
The second problem the enterprise will solve is funding our NGO's activities, supporting our work on a permanent basis and allowing us to cover administrative costs, invest in eco-hub network development and support non-commercial social projects.

Production process
Our ottomans will be made from used items through reuse. The ottoman frame will be sewn from used durable textiles: jeans, corduroy, coat fabric, etc.
Production preparation has already begun. Collection of filling and fabric for ottomans is happening in our eco-hub network. Currently, our NGO has a network of eco-hubs - centers for spreading "zero waste" knowledge, where recyclables and used items are also collected for recycling or reuse.
Recyclables and items brought by visitors to our network should become the resource base for furniture production. This will promote project sustainability and future scaling.
