LITERA 2.0: Reboot

With pain in our hearts, we watch footage of occupiers destroying cultural-historical monuments in Kharkiv, Kyiv and other cities.
It's hard to believe that ancient architecture, picturesque streets and other places are simply disappearing from cityscapes. We sincerely love Odesa and don't want such things to happen here.
That's why by collective decision with the authors of the projects "Student Open Space", "History Shelf", "Reconstruction of the Equatorial Coude Telescope Tower" and "Litera 2.0", it was decided to redirect all collected funds to city defense, namely to support the army and territorial defense.
The total amount is 89,278 hryvnias.
We thank all benefactors who supported these projects. Your funds will go to preserving Odesa and its culture. We will report on expenses in detail on our social networks and website.
Odesa National Scientific Library is Ukraine's oldest public library, a leading scientific-information and cultural-educational center, world-famous for its unique collections. Actively implementing innovations in library work, the library staff continuously cares about creating comfortable conditions for reading and learning.
Thus, in May 2018 during the XIX All-Ukrainian exhibition-forum "Ukrainian Book in Odesa Region", the library presented to Odesa residents and city guests a new social project — summer reading hall "Litera".
The pilot launch of the location and its operating results in 2019-2021 proved that further project development is extremely promising given the high level of visitor interest in the hall, which became a true social hub.
The open public space, located in the library's summer courtyard, provided visitors with free access to current periodicals, a wide spectrum of new newspapers and magazines published in Ukraine and Odesa, Wi-Fi access, participation in book crossing, etc.
The project team strives to move forward, improve and modernize the summer reading room, expand the boundaries of library space, implement new formats of cultural communication.
Due to quarantine, the "LITERA" project — summer reading hall for Odesa residents and city guests on the "My City" crowdfunding platform was paused. Therefore, we revised the estimate itself and changed the budget and visualization.
The "LITERA" project is extremely important for citizens, so we are updating and relaunching the project.
