"Gifts for Children of Fallen Heroes" on Birthdays
We, the team of the Charitable Organization "CF "WE MUST LIVE", since 2022 have been supporting wives, fiancées and children of fallen war veterans from all over Ukraine. Support includes comprehensive assistance, including humanitarian, psychological, legal, educational, etc. We organize creative workshops, art exhibitions, thematic lectures from "how to live through stages of grief" to "how to build a business from scratch", online and offline meetings of families of fallen defenders in cities of Ukraine.

Special attention in our foundation is given to children, as they are the most vulnerable part of our population. They face the realities of war every day, losing their friends, homes and most painfully - their parents. For each such child, the world is completely shattered. They cry a lot, become aggressive or, conversely, withdraw into themselves.
Therefore, one of the main projects of the foundation is "Gifts for Children of Fallen Heroes" on Birthdays. Because it evokes incredible emotions of happiness in them.
This initiative was founded by officer Volodymyr Hunko even before the full-scale invasion. He congratulated the children of his fallen brothers on their birthdays. After his death, this cause was continued by his wife, founder of our foundation, Oksana Borkun and scaled it to the national level.
Today our foundation cares for over 1700 children who lost their father in this war. In 2023, each child received a gift for the holiday. This caused a powerful wave of gratitude from children and their mothers. They sent photos, videos and just warm words of thanks to our foundation and donors who joined our project.
Our reliable partner became the toy store "Family Toys", which provides quality selection of gifts for children of different ages and helps with shipping packages by mail.
Currently we have already engaged a partner who will provide gifts for children until the end of 2024. And now we need funding to continue the project in the first quarter of 2025.
We can confidently say that this initiative significantly improves the emotional state of affected children, reminding them that there is still room in the world for smiles, happiness and good deeds. They feel that they are remembered not only on general holidays, but are remembered every day. They are loved. They are cared for. And especially on this special day.
