Special Workshops. Everyone Matters.
From a medical perspective, autism is a mental development disorder with unclear etiology (cause of origin).
In everyday terms, autism is a special condition where a person, most often intellectually intact (intellectual development corresponds to the norm), but has great difficulties with communication and socialization.
As a result, they face a number of problems:
- huge communication deficit,
- personal lack of demand,
- unrealized potential,
- complete exclusion from the system of social relationships,
- unemployment,
- reclusiveness,
- depression, suicidal moods,
- high risk of ending up in a psychoneurological boarding home after the death of parents or other guardians.
These problems traumatize and further disable a person who, under more favorable conditions, could live a full life and be useful to society.
Considering that the number of people with autism is steadily growing each year, our society is approaching a humanitarian catastrophe, with a decline in the quality of life for many people, since not only people with autism but also their families become hostages to autism.
Therefore, we, parents of children with autism, decided to open a decorative and sewing workshop where people with autism can communicate, learn and work.
We already have premises where we finished renovations.
We also have an initiative and strong team. Each member believes in the common cause and works on a voluntary basis.
Together we organized and held two charity events for special workshops: a Christmas Fair and a Big Family Party.
The money raised went to renovating the workshop premises and partial payment for training our specialists.
Now, for the workshops to open and start working, we need to take the last step: purchase furniture and equipment.
We would be very happy and grateful if you want to help people with autism find their place in life and make them feel truly needed.
