Unbreakable forever. Heroes in street names
About Heroes and Heroines who were not born fighters, but became them. With your support, our NGO "Historical Platform" will tell everyone about unbreakable Ukrainians, especially children. We will collect the most interesting and verified information about 10 outstanding Ukrainians in one place. Based on these materials, we will prepare a presentation and interactive test for schools and initiate "Unbreakability Lessons". This is how we will preserve memory together.

A code of history and names we must know and pass to future generations. So we don't forget any. So our children and grandchildren know what people are capable of in this world, understand cause and effect, and are protected by this knowledge.
On September 28, 2022, we registered NGO "Historical Platform" to implement the above and fill gaps in Ukrainian historical memory nationwide. On a volunteer basis with SoftServe Academy partners, we developed and launched the "Streetcode: history at every step" platform to collect interesting verified information about outstanding figures in street names in one place.
For our first city, Kyiv, we agreed on the annotation plaque (streetcode) layout with KMDA. It matches the capital's design code and is an informative addition to new address plaques. We will act this way in all cities. Within our cooperation with KMDA, the first Kyiv streetcodes have already appeared in the urban space:
The "Unbreakable forever. Heroes in street names" project is part of the "Streetcode: history at every step" platform. Within the project, we will prepare 10 unique educational materials about unbreakable Heroes and Heroines. These are biographical and historical texts from chronology to wow-facts, plus unique author illustrations – b/w and in color. Here are some examples:
Materials prepared within the project will be published on the "Streetcode: history at every step" platform. Based on this, we will create an electronic presentation about the Unbreakable for Ukrainian schools and an interactive test, and send them to all interested parties.
If we raise more than planned, we will print and install streetcodes in Kyiv and possibly other cities. These will be streets named after Heroes and Heroines we write about in this project. Streets named after Ukrainians who, despite suffering, repressions, wars, Russification and executions, showed and continue to show us the victorious path to freedom and independence.
