Rope park at rehabilitation tourist camp in Mykolaiv region
In summer 2022, the team of NGO "Tourist Ukrainian Family" launched a camp in Myhiya village, Mykolaiv region.
The organizers' mission is to bring back joyful emotions to those who survived the hell of war. First of all, these are IDP families and Defenders. Children and parents can restore their resources here.
Myhiya is a land of amazing nature: rocky shores, Buh rapids, Radon Lake, Cossack islands and unique plants. In peacetime, tourist travelers and professional athletes restored their sports potential here. Now, in wartime, they decided to bring back to life those who survived war fears and torture. They gathered as a team, discussed the urgent matters - and decided: there will be a "Tourist Ukrainian Family" camp here. Abbreviated - TUR. They invited art therapists, craftsmen, tourism specialists and water elements experts.
Oleksiy Oleynik became the head of the charitable project, just uncle Lyosha, an experienced tourist, in love with his work.
Oleksiy says: "We are volunteers from Kyiv, Kharkiv, Bila Tserkva. We are all tourists. We understand how important it is now for people to rest, reboot. This especially concerns those whom the war greatly affected. We gathered a team, new volunteers come every week. Someone as an instructor, someone to cook, art therapists, animators - these are people who work with soul. In the first two weeks we had 34 people: from Lysychansk, Kramatorsk, Mykolaiv, Oleshky. We ride rafts, kayaks, climb rocks. Art therapists work with guests. And we see how children who come to us closed, because they experienced the horrors of war - smile here. They come alive".
In summer 2022 we received 474 displaced persons in the camp. We gathered a powerful team of instructors and volunteers of 84 people.
The camp was organized with own funds, donations and financial support from Nova Ukraine, food assistance from Kyiv Ukrainian Church.
This year we want to install a rope park as another sports activity zone that will help participants restore their psycho-emotional state.
