Book about inclusive society "Different & Cool"

Once upon a time there were 5 women who decided they really needed to do projects for families and children. But it's not that simple - they dreamed every child would live in a family, and communities would be comfortable and accessible. Work spun up, two reforms happened, projects were done. And, by the way, they were members of the Coordination Council for Children's Rights Protection in Lviv region and implementation of child care and support system reform. Yeah, and it's one of the key reforms on the path to European integration.

- delivered humanitarian aid worth $1,250,000;
- coordinate 5 projects (Parenting School for parents of children 0-3 years old, Mentoring - for teens temporarily in difficult life circumstances, Inclusive Things - about disability simply, You - change, for NGO reps working with youth, plus psychological groups for parents of children with disabilities, for parents of children 0 to 3 years. Also created "Inclusive Things" coloring books and planner for civic activists;
- Supported over 2000 families in three years of organization existence.
And here these wonderful incredible women got an idea. "Let's make a coloring book," says Mari. "But heroes should be ordinary kids and adults," says Nastya. "But all different and real," adds Maryana. "Girls, let it be inclusive coloring, truly for everyone," added Sofi. And they lived long and happily. Hah, no.
Three more incredible women joined them: 🫶 Book author - Anastasia Mozgova-Stepanyak, 🎨Illustrator - Oksana Shulzhenko, 📝Designer - Victoria Haponenko. So a new dream appeared - book about inclusive society "Different & Cool".
You'll ask, bro, what's the problem? It's that such books don't exist. About diversity, accessibility, inclusion. Now some serious info: in recent years, inclusivity and accessibility topics gain attention, but many barriers still exist. For example: institutional care system for children and people with disabilities, lack of accessibility, and worst - myths and stereotypes about disability. You know, when they say inclusion is only needed by people with disabilities. What about dad with stroller, guy with cast, you? Also, don't forget, since Russian-Ukrainian war began, number of people with disabilities increased by 300,000. So ignoring inclusivity topic is no longer possible, folks.
So these wonderwomen developed a children's book about inclusion in society - "Different and Cool". Bright illustrations and short, kid-friendly text. And guys, such book doesn't exist yet. But we can have it.
