IT-Cluster Odessa

In August 2015, the Odessa IT Cluster was launched. It unites three areas: education, business and local authorities. The IT Cluster was organized to develop the information technology sphere in the Odessa region.

Starting in September, an elective course "Introduction to IT Specialization" was launched for IT students at ONPU, ONU named after Mechnikov and ONAS. It was successfully concluded with an HR workshop with representatives of leading IT companies in Odessa. The legal committee of the Odessa IT Cluster was created.

An "Introduction to Business Analytics and Big Data" course by IBM was conducted.

We held an inaugural meeting to create an educational IT ecosystem in Odessa. For the first time in Odessa, representatives of 6 universities (Polytech, Mechnikov, Communications, Refrigeration, Maritime Academy, Water) and 5 private educational institutions and initiatives (STEP, Geeks Lab, IT-School Hillel, Factory, LITS) gathered together. Cooperation agreements were signed with universities, which will enable influencing the quality of personnel training for the IT industry in the Odessa region.
