"Together Towards Recovery": psychological support program "Life Workshops" for IDP families with children
Launched on: 26.02.2026

The project organizers are the multidisciplinary interactive center "Life Workshop" and the Public Organization "Here and Now. Eco-practices and Development".

"Life Workshop" is a space for development, support and recovery for children and families who have experienced forced displacement and consequences of war. The center works with children and families through creativity, education, eco-practices and psychological support, helping to gradually restore feelings of safety, stability and faith in the future.

The "Life Workshop" team has practical experience:

  • working with children and adolescents in education, creative development and psychological support;
  • organizing group sessions, trainings, master classes and social initiatives;
  • supporting IDP families and children who have experienced loss of home, environmental change and prolonged stress;
  • implementing socially oriented community projects.

In our work, we proceed from the fact that war affects not only the child, but the entire family. That's why we work with the family as a unified system, not just with individual members.

After forced relocation, many families live in a state of constant tension: anxiety, fatigue, uncertainty, emotional exhaustion. Children often absorb their parents' emotional state and experience the same feelings, even without always being aware of them.

Our experience has shown that short sessions or one-time events are often insufficient. Families need time, safe space and systematic support to pause, restore inner balance and gradually regain a sense of grounding.

This gave rise to the idea of an annual retreat psychological support program — not as travel for travel's sake, but as a holistic recovery process that lasts several days and has a long-lasting effect.

"Together Towards Recovery" is an annual 7-day psychological support program for IDP families with children, implemented by "Life Workshop".

The program combines:

  • psychological trainings and group meetings;
  • family support and interaction practices;
  • recovery through nature, peace and safe environment;
  • forming a community of families who are not left alone with their experience.

Participation of parents together with children helps reduce anxiety levels, strengthen family trust and create a sense of security.

We submit the project to the "My City" platform because we share the value of mutual support and the principle of "person to person".

Implementation of this project is possible only with trust and participation of caring people who are ready to support not a one-time initiative, but the creation of a sustainable program that will work year after year.

By supporting this fundraising, donors become part of the recovery process of specific families and development of a long-term social initiative.

As a result of the project:

  • IDP families with children will receive systematic psychological support and stress reduction;
  • emotional state of children and parents will improve;
  • intra-family bonds will strengthen;
  • a support community will form around "Life Workshop";
  • an annual program will be launched that can help new families in coming years.

This is an investment not just in one trip, but in resilience, psychological health and future of families affected by war.

We invite you to support the "Together Towards Recovery" project on "My City" platform.

Every contribution is real help to IDP families with children in restoring feelings of safety, stability and support.

By joining the project, you become part of a common cause that helps families rebuild their lives here and now.
