GladPet for humane stray animal reduction!

The GladPet project turns 6 years old this year. During this time, 7,581 animals listed on the website found their homes. Thanks to crowdfunding and grants, we raised 2,935,754 UAH to help animals in shelters. And we don't plan to stop there! This was possible primarily thanks to our motivated project team! Specifically — these people.

So the best gift for us this year would be the opportunity to solve stray animal problems in Odesa. This is impossible without your support, so the best birthday greeting for us is a donation to this project.
The stray animal problem has always been relevant, and after the full-scale invasion, the number of animals left without owners and homes increased thousandfold. Animal sterilization is every owner's or caretaker's responsibility, as neglecting this procedure means that in three years an unneutered male and unspayed female can produce about 512 dogs and 382 cats, and in ten years, that's more than 2,682 animals total. Animal sterilization is one humane way to reduce street animals, so our team decided to start fundraising for stray animal sterilization in Odesa.
Why sterilize stray and domestic animals?
- Animal lifespan increases by 3-5 years. Neutered pets live on average 25% longer than their unneutered counterparts.
- Reduces cancer risk, as castration prevents some common inflammatory and oncological diseases.
- They stop marking territory.
- Behavioral changes reduce injury risk in fights and street deaths, animals become less aggressive.
- Reduces stray animal numbers.
We already have experience implementing a similar project with "Exvet" veterinary clinic, so with experience and love for animals we're taking on another one. The first project was possible thanks to financial support from Canadian organization "Veterinarians without Borders", this time we ask all caring people to support the GladPet team, "Exvet" and Odesa's tails. You can donate or tell friends about the fundraiser, we're sure that together we can get one step closer to solving the stray animal problem.
