Hot meals for vulnerable population groups
You know, sometimes the biggest changes begin with a piece of happiness served on a plate. Hot meals for the needy are not just nutrition, but also a symbol of care and support. They create a foundation for hope, warmth and opportunity.
When a person goes through difficult times, often the first step toward change is meeting basic needs, such as nutrition. A hot meal is more than just food. It is a symbol of support and connection to the community.
Charity Foundation "Caritas Kamianske" was created in September 2015 in Kamianske due to the need to provide assistance to internally displaced persons from occupied territories of Ukraine.

With the start of full-scale war in Ukraine in February 2022, the foundation's activities expanded significantly. Our team implemented such areas of activity: humanitarian aid - drinking water, hot meals, food products, hygiene items, bedding, dishes; heating materials - firewood, cash grants for housing rent; psychological, legal, crisis management, case management services. Since the start of full-scale invasion, hot meals were provided to vulnerable population groups twice a week within the project thanks to our volunteers' dedication.
In the first months of war we fed up to 200 internally displaced persons, people with disabilities, and families in difficult life circumstances. Charity meals at Caritas Kamianske are not just help for those who need it. Coming to our foundation, visitors get used to each other, meet, find countrymen. The majority of participants are elderly people who were torn from their native cities where their entire lives passed due to war. At a respectable age any changes are much more painful. Starting life from scratch is difficult. It's hard to imagine everyone's emotional state. Among the registered are residents of Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia and, unfortunately, even Dnipropetrovsk regions.
After completion of the project that lasted 1.5 years, the need for feeding the needy remained, so now our team is looking for opportunities to support our beneficiaries through fundraising and caring helpers.
Today our volunteers cook for 50 most vulnerable persons who receive hot meals from us once a week, but our resources are very limited.
The "Caritas Kamianske" team appeals to you for project support, thanks to which we can provide hot meals to 40 needy people twice a week for two months.
Hot meals for our beneficiaries will be not only a response to physical needs, but also a reminder that they are not alone. This is a step toward continuing to help them feel part of something bigger and contribute to restoring their faith in themselves.
