Accessible sport for children and youth of Shabiv community

From 2022-2023, we acted as an initiative group, volunteers, 16 people who united and began providing humanitarian aid to Shabiv territorial community residents in the most difficult time. In 2023, we implemented 6 vital social projects in the community (repair and setup of bomb shelters, invincibility points, etc).

Having gained experience and knowledge, we united and registered the NGO "I believe in the power of kindness".

We see an urgent need to support children and youth in three villages of Shabiv TG - Adamivka, Blagodatne and Avidivka, namely in increasing physical education and sports activities.

It all started when we received an appeal from parents of Adamivka educational institution students asking for help: "Please help our children, we want to at least help solve the problem of child aggression and immoral behavior, help us set up premises, and we will help as we can".

The fact is that in the settlements of Shabiv territorial community (Adamivka, Blagodatne and Avidivka) live 298 residents, including children, youth and active residents, for whom no place has been created where they could spend time benefiting physical health. This village is the most remote, transport to the district center runs only twice a week, so children cannot attend events in other cities, and many sports activities for children cost money and are located in the city.

In the territory of these three villages, a general secondary education institution exists only in Adamivka, but the building never included a sports hall.

In 2023, a survey was conducted among students at Adamivka educational institution. The first question was "How do you spend your leisure time, what do you like most?", everyone was surprised because 92% of students answered that they spend leisure time at home, watching TV, playing games on phones.

Now we observe a rapid growth of inactive lifestyle and inactivity, not understanding the importance of healthy lifestyle.

We want to make our villages better for children and youth, especially for those living farther away.

Therefore our project involves purchasing material and technical equipment to set up premises in Adamivka cultural center for physical education and sports, thereby providing access to sports opportunities for children and youth in remote villages, promoting their physical and social development.

Successful project implementation will lead to increased overall physical activity levels among the population; reduced risk of chronic diseases and harmful habits.
