Stray ≠ abandoned: homeless pets of Izyaslav need our help

Dozens of stray animals are the reality and, unfortunately, the norm in many (if not all) cities and towns of our country. You can pass by indifferently, complain about the inaction of local authorities or cast sympathetic glances, hoping that some mythical "someone" will do something about it all, or you can finally start acting on your own and fight by all possible means against the cruel injustice and harsh conditions that street cats and dogs have to survive in every day.
That's exactly what we thought one day — caring residents of Izyaslav — and founded in March 2023 the public organization "Kind Heart Izyaslav", which directs all its efforts to helping homeless animals of the city and surroundings. And although the NGO was officially registered only in April 2023, our volunteers (residents of Izyaslav) have been caring about the fate of the city's homeless pets for more than a year.

Our mission: to make the world around us a little better and kinder every day and demonstrate to others by our own example that sincere, caring and responsible treatment of animals, especially homeless ones, is an essential element of a healthy and conscious society.
Our vision: to transform into a full-fledged shelter and be a reliable and comfortable place for keeping street animals until they find permanent homes.
Main areas of our activity:
- care for our wards (24 dogs, 30 cats) — feeding, treatment, age-appropriate castration;
- providing food and treatment for stray animals in Izyaslav (several dozen more pets);
- reducing the number of street cats and dogs through their castration, finding homes for them, and providing temporary care;
- forming responsible and caring attitudes toward animals (especially homeless ones) among Izyaslav residents.
Pets saved by "KHI" NGO volunteers
Experience from past sterilizations of stray animals carried out on the initiative of "Kind Heart Izyaslav" NGO showed that our volunteers lack a number of helpful and extremely important things for the most effective and efficient organization of this process.
Among them are a dart gun and catching loop, as not every homeless animal is ready to voluntarily come to hands; cages for post-operative care that will not only protect volunteers from aggressively disposed animals, but also prevent their escape after coming out of anesthesia; cages for transporting dogs, since we only have decent cat carriers available.
That's why we urge every caring person to pay attention to our fundraising. Your invaluable help and support will allow us not only to sterilize 30 more homeless pets, but also increase the productivity of our volunteers' efforts going forward. And this means even more saved lives, many times less suffering and silent pleas for help!
