First aid for homeless

During quarantine, homeless people became one of the most vulnerable population categories. Public toilets and food outlets don't work, and people on streets became even more distant from each other. Thus the issue of helping homeless became even more acute.

The problem of homeless people's vulnerability became even greater and was always important. And we don't want to stand aside, as everyone has the right to such living standard, including food, clothing, housing, medical care and necessary social services, which is essential for maintaining human health and well-being.

Thus, to reduce risks of infection and spread of coronavirus, we need to solve the issue of providing homeless and destitute people with medications, at least the simplest ones.

None of homeless and destitute chose such fate. And returning to previous life on their own is almost impossible. With our help it's still easier.

"In Ukraine I have neither housing, nor family, nor even one relative who would shelter me. All family is in Belarus. Recently deported from Belarus, where I permanently lived, because I had no registration. That's how I ended up on the street, good thing people from Center for Social Adaptation of Homeless and Destitute help.

Due to family problems has nowhere to live, relatives don't let into house, worked hard all life, and now found himself in such situation that doesn't even have money to eat and buy medicines. There are actually many such life stories and it's in our power to change people's fates, even with small steps.

That's why our community of Ukrainian Volunteer Service in Chernihiv decided to launch fundraising for purchasing 30 first aid kits for city's homeless and destitute, which will later be transferred to Chernihiv center for social adaptation of homeless and destitute.
