"Veterans Hostel" - care for those who protect your safety!

We, the team of Poltava Veterans Center, want to initiate and implement a project to set up rest rooms for veterans at our city's railway station.

For a long time, we have been working to ensure that veterans of the Poltava community do not feel abandoned or unneeded after returning to civilian life. We know well that adaptation after the front is a difficult path. It's about finding one's place, understanding how to live on and recovery. In this process, it's extremely important to have support and a comfortable space where one can rest for at least a few hours.

That's why we want to create a place that will become a support point for our defenders on the road. The railway station is a place through which hundreds of veterans and military pass daily: those going to service, treatment, rehabilitation, training, meetings or just on business. Often there are long transfers between trains, sometimes you have to wait for your train at night or in bad weather. We strive for veterans to have the opportunity to rest in comfortable conditions at such moments – in specially equipped rooms at the station.

These rooms will have everything necessary: comfortable chairs, opportunity to lie down and rest, hot tea or coffee, Wi-Fi access, charging stations for phones. It will be a space where you can catch your breath, collect your thoughts, read a book or just be silent. We want this corner to become a symbol of respect and care for those who protect us daily.

We have experience working with veterans and their families, know their needs and understand how important even small but sincere help is. So now our goal is to find support for this project, together create a place that will be important not only for Poltava veterans, but also for those passing through our city in their travels.

This is not just about a rest room. This is about feeling at home, even on the road.
