Installing dog waste bag dispensers in Teplodar

UPDATED: Project successfully raised funds and moved to implementation stage. Dispenser installation is next.

We live in a small city in Odessa region, Teplodar. We have many dog and cat lovers, but the culture of cleaning up after them is still low.

Pet owners don't want to clean up after their animals, claiming there are no proper conditions for this, it's difficult and generally "why should I do it if nobody else does".

Unfortunately, many adults don't realize that uncleaned dog excrement not only pollutes streets where people walk daily and places where children play, but can also cause dangerous toxocariasis. This is a human disease when toxocara parasites that live in dogs settle in the human body. Infection primarily occurs through soil, making the "danger zone" limitless. Just remember how many "dog surprises" are found in residential courtyards, on lawns, children's and sports playgrounds and other public places.

We want to show people that cleaning up after your pet is easy. At the initial stage of project implementation, we will install two dispensers with biodegradable bags for waste cleanup in the city. These dispensers will be installed together with trash bins, so you won't have to walk around carrying a bag.

This project can instill in people a culture of cleaning up after their pet and responsibility for the environment they live in.

The bags in the dispensers decompose in three years, meaning they won't harm the ecology.
