Mobile emergency aid: e-bikes for healthcare workers

Organization name: Municipal Institution "Primary Healthcare Center" of Andriyashivska and Khmelivska Village Councils of Romny District, Sumy Region. Community website andriyashivska-gromada.gov.ua
Our community has repeatedly implemented social and medical initiatives — from supporting low-income families to organizing preventive checkups in remote villages. Last year, we successfully implemented a similar project providing social workers of the Municipal Institution "Social Services Center" of Andriyashivska Village Council with electric bicycles. This produced tangible results: workers could reach clients faster, physical strain decreased, and remote village residents received timely assistance. This experience confirmed the effectiveness of electric transport-based mobility and inspired us to scale it for medical workers.
Daily, our medical workers walk or use personal transport to reach elderly people, disabled persons, or large families. This takes much time and energy, sometimes even endangering those needing urgent care. It's especially difficult in autumn and winter when roads are damaged and transport unavailable.
We want to change this: purchase 15 electric bicycles for paramedics so they can respond faster to calls, regularly visit patients, and work without exhaustion. This simple solution truly saves lives.
We believe care should be nearby. When a medic can quickly reach a patient — it's not just comfort, it's a chance for health and life. Electric bicycles are a symbol of modern, accessible, and ecological medicine in rural areas.
Social impact: 15 medics will receive transport for daily work, about 6000 patients (elderly, mobility-impaired, chronically ill, large families and others) will receive regular home care; response time to calls will decrease; physical strain on medics will reduce; community trust in healthcare system will increase.
