Vyacheslav Bedulya — a soldier who deserves a new chance at a healthy life

ReBone is a social medical project aimed at providing wounded soldiers with free access to personalized implantation.

Within the ReBone project, a fundraiser is underway for the production of a custom titanium implant — a cranial plate for Vyacheslav Bedulya.

In November 2025, Vyacheslav was mobilized into the ranks of Ukraine's Defense Forces, completed basic military training, and was assigned to serve in a separate mechanized brigade as a combat engineer driver.

In February 2026, he received orders and departed for the city of Kostiantynivka to ensure uninterrupted logistics to distant positions, where the number of Russian drones was high.

On February 11, while on a mission, the group came under drone attack. Four comrades sustained leg injuries, while Vyacheslav suffered a head wound. Despite this, he helped apply tourniquets, called for evacuation, and loaded the wounded — thinking of others, not himself.

The first operation was performed in Kharkiv, after which Vyacheslav spent another three months in hospital.

Now Vyacheslav needs a second operation to install a cranioplasty plate in order to recover and adapt.

He fulfilled his duties responsibly. Now he needs support so he can recover.

The cost of the cranial plate is 21,285 hryvnias, which is planned to be raised through the My City platform.

The challenge of war and new solutions

The full-scale war in Ukraine has caused hundreds of thousands of complex injuries. According to official data, at least 390,000 military personnel and 30,000 civilians have been affected since 2022.

To help people restore their health, the "Tykho" Charitable Foundation and Velta Medical launched the joint initiative ReBone. It is a social project where a team of bioengineers and surgeons creates personalized titanium solutions. Over three years of work in Ukraine, the Velta Medical team has produced more than 200 implants.

Thanks to custom titanium implants and the ReBone project, there is now a chance to save limbs and restore parts of the skull even in seemingly "hopeless" cases.

How does the technology work?

Instead of standard prosthetics, patients receive an implant perfectly matched to their anatomy:

  1. Modeling: based on computed tomography (CT), engineers create a 3D model of the damaged area.
  2. Printing: the implant and special navigation templates are printed from medical-grade titanium.
  3. Surgery: the entire cycle from receiving the CT scan to the finished product takes 5 to 14 days, allowing doctors to act as quickly as possible.

My City — a trusted partner of the ReBone project

In spring, the My City crowdfunding platform and the ReBone project closed a fundraiser for patient Mykhailo Vlasenko. Read Mykhailo's story here. And then also helped Vitaliy Hrabkov and raised over 58,000 hryvnias.
