Public Organization "New Life"
Public Organization "New Life" was created to provide charitable assistance and rehabilitation services to homeless, low-income children, children from large families and those in correctional facilities.
Organization volunteers actively work with Odessa youth, elderly, disabled, orphans, low-income, large families and homeless people.
The organization's activities are aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle. Regular assistance is also provided to orphans, low-income and large families, pensioners, disabled children with cerebral palsy, displaced persons from the ATO zone and psychological support for these categories of citizens of Odessa city and region.
One of the organization's main projects, "Homeless and Orphans Rescue Service, Assistance to Displaced Persons", includes:
1. "Social Canteen" point. Currently one point operates opposite the railway station in the square. About 90 people receive help daily. The project plans to open 3 more points in Odessa (Kotovsk, Tairovo, Malinovsky). At this point people can get hot meals, first aid, legal consultation.
2. "Assistance point for people below poverty line, displaced persons". Currently one point exists in Malinovsky district at: 19-A Stolbovaya St. Plans include opening 3 more points: Kotovsk, Tairovo, Primorsky district.
These points provide the following services:
feeding;
medical assistance;
sanitary treatment (showers);
sobering-up facility;
legal assistance;
humanitarian aid distribution;
hairdressing;
temporary accommodation.
3. "New Life" shelter, located at 19-A Stolbovaya St, currently operating with 40 places. Based on last year's experience, it was decided to expand to 80 places. Assistance is provided in the following areas:
social rehabilitation of the above population groups;
document processing assistance;
employment;
housing search assistance.
The shelter is currently being expanded, with repair and construction work underway to increase capacity to 90 people, and in spring 2016 construction of a second shelter in "Peremoga" village for elderly people will begin.
