"Equals" integrated theater for youth with and without hearing loss

What is "Equals" integrated theater

It's a theater where people with special needs are involved at every stage of its creation. This is a unique art therapy method, as creating a performance is a multi-level process that can reveal children's full creative potential. "Equals" is not about pity and indulgence, but about equal opportunities and creative self-realization for all.

Our project has two directions:

✨ Creating a full-fledged modern theatrical performance, where directors and actors from "Tea Theater", volunteers and children from "Hearing with Heart" educational-rehabilitation center will work as equals.

✨ Open events where we'll talk about inclusion in Ukraine and worldwide. One event — online sign language course: basics and theatrical vocabulary (held in February-March 2021)

The premiere of the first integrated charity performance "Blue Country" will take place on April 3rd at "Tea Theater". It's a fairy tale about how friendship and love save the world. Youth with and without hearing impairments will participate, and all proceeds will be distributed between "Hearing with Heart" center and young participants.

But for this magical premiere to happen, we need your help!

How much money is needed and why

We currently need 5000 UAH. We'll make all decorations and costumes by hand, but need materials: foam, fiberboard, glue, fabrics, paints and brushes for stage decorations and actor costumes.

We'll be grateful for every contribution, and for donations above certain amounts we'll send small gifts:

from 100 UAH — sticker pack with project symbols;

from 250 UAH — performance poster;

from 700 UAH — t-shirt with project symbols.
