"Skovoroda's Well of Wisdom" - create a tourist magnet for Bilyaivka community

Project goal - by October 2026 create tourist-cultural location "Skovoroda's Well of Wisdom" on Bilyaivka community territory.
The project involves reviving a tourist-cultural location near the historic well from which, according to legends, Ukrainian philosopher Hryhoriy Skovoroda drank water during his travels through Slobozhanshchyna. We aim to transform this place into a modern cultural open-air space combining history, philosophy, tourism and recreation.
The location is situated near the highway connecting Bilyaivka and Oleksiyivka communities.
Daily a significant number of people travel this road. Opposite there is a reservoir and recreation bases, so tourists and vacationers can easily visit the new location during their travels. Thanks to convenient location the space has potential to become a new tourist stop and cultural magnet of the region.
Who are we?
We are the initiative team of CU "Center of Culture and Leisure" of Bilyaivka Village Council.

Our center is an important hub of community cultural life: creative classes for children, cultural events for youth, meetings and activities for older people are held here.
Our team has experience implementing socially important initiatives. In 2025 thanks to participatory budget a safe children's space for children and families was created. Also our team actively engages in volunteering: we help military, organize charity concerts, fundraising and support public initiatives.
Why is this important?
Preserving historic places is an important factor in forming community identity and passing cultural heritage to future generations. The well connected with the name - Hryhoriy Skovoroda has special historical-cultural value and is a symbol of spirituality of our land.
Analyzed by - Sloboda Ukraine history researcher Andriy Paramonov and local historian Yevhen Panov, who confirmed this place's connection with the philosopher's travels.

Currently the territory needs improvement and rethinking as a cultural space. Creating a modern tourist location will allow:
- preserve community historic heritage;
- popularize Ukrainian philosophical tradition;
- create a new tourist attraction point;
- activate community cultural life.
What we plan to do:
Within the project a cozy open-air space will be created - a kind of "living museum" where history can not only be read but felt.
Planned:
-restore historic well with wooden crane;
-install symbolic wooden gates with project name;
-create "Clock of Reflections" installation from cobblestone;
-install 4 wooden benches with Hryhoriy Skovoroda quotes;
-arrange information stand "Skovoroda's Path";
-plant trees (decorative plants)
-create small parking for visitors.
Expected that annually the location will be visited by about 1500-2000 people: community residents, tourists, families with children and vacationers.
