Science Week

The scientific club based at the Sviatoshyn District Center for Extracurricular Work "Magic of Science" (https://www.facebook.com/groups/1123358725921091 https://cprs.kiev.ua/section/scientific-technical/naukova-diyalnist/group-magiya-nauky/) plans to conduct Science Weeks. The event aims to popularize science in general, as well as the image of scientists, encourage the study of natural sciences, increase children's awareness of Ukrainian scientists and their significant, but unfortunately not always properly appreciated, contribution to the development of science and technology on a global scale. Popularizing the image of a scientist as a successful person in society. Improving general erudition through familiarization with facts from the biography of famous people and the state of science development during their lifetime and their influence on modernity. Science Week is a week during which children will familiarize themselves with information about the scientific contribution of a chosen person, their biography, inventions, etc. by completing tasks, quests and attending planned events (Scientific readings, excursions, conversations with scientists). Children will not only acquire knowledge, consolidate it by performing creative tasks, but also engage knowledge and acquire skills from related subjects, such as the use of information technology. Once a quarter we will conduct Science Week, choosing a new theme each time, namely: Sergey Korolev - Ukrainian rocket designer who always identified himself as Ukrainian; Maria Sklodowska-Curie - the only female scientist who won two Nobel Prizes; Leonardo da Vinci - scientist and dreamer whose dreams were ahead of their time, and prototypes of mechanisms still fascinate. Each day tasks will be published, the completion of which participants will publish on their social networks. The 10 most active participants will receive prizes. Also important are thematic decorations that will help children immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the chosen theme (space decorations and rocket models, chemical laboratories and the restrained style of a 19th century female scientist, Renaissance era, models of inventions based on da Vinci's sketches).
