Good night: beds for people who want to change lives

About 1.5 million citizens in Ukraine use drugs. Around 120 thousand Ukrainians die annually from drug addiction and related diseases.

Also, alcohol dependency is a great loss to our society. There are no statistics showing the level of mortality, morbidity and damaged lives.

State OST programs don't help people get rid of harmful addiction. And attempts to "quit" independently, unfortunately, have almost never returned anyone to normal life for long.

NGO "Choose Life" has been helping people dependent on alcohol, drugs, gambling, prone to vagrancy etc. since 2018.

Not all, but many of those who turned to us for help become socialized again, establish relationships with families, fall in love, marry, have children, find their place in life.

The uniqueness of our program is that these are Christian social adaptation centers, whose goal is to change thinking and worldview, which, provided certain rules are followed, leads to conscious sober living.

Today drugs are more accessible than ever, alcohol is sold at every step, and gaming machine halls still exist. So addiction problems can affect every family.

Currently the conditions in which our wards stay require urgent improvement. There's no state funding. We're doing repairs and want to replace beds and mattresses first. Since existing beds are uncomfortable, wooden and homemade.

Under our organization's care are 2 social adaptation centers. The number of people constantly grows, and sleeping places are extremely insufficient. We aim to increase their number from 40 to 60 for 2 houses and therefore need help purchasing 30 bunk beds and 60 mattresses with covers.

This will improve the lives of more people.
