Christian Sports Club "Lighthouse"

Hello!

My name is Danylo Shevchenko and I am a coach of Christian Sports Club "Lighthouse", as well as the founder of this project. 👋🏻

In July last year I started gathering kids at a small playground and conducting free football classes.

Training started with a group of 4 children. Currently the club has up to 30 children, aged from 5 to 14 years (3 age groups). Both boys and girls train. Classes are held three times a week.

"Good Samaritan" CF, where I have been a volunteer since russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, helped purchase equipment and still helps with renting the hall where we currently train.

Why did I create this project?

My goal is to make free sport as accessible as possible for children (we are located in Moldovanka, which is not the best district of the city), so that the new generation has proper values and is healthy.

Unfortunately, today there is a big problem with child-rearing and parenting. Therefore, within our classes we focus not only on physical development, but also on emotional and spiritual. After class we necessarily discuss some moral-ethical topic, which helps develop personality in children.

As a result of the project implementation:

• we will be able to positively influence children's characters, and therefore their future and Ukraine's future;
• children will learn about values worth following to create a quality society;
• improve children's health and psycho-moral state;
• children will develop proper friendly relationships from childhood;
• boys and girls who come to the club participate in competitions;
• and we will become mentors for them, to whom children sometimes open up more than to parents.
