Gift of Christmas Camp for Ukrainian Children
We are a public organization "Smart Point Uzhhorod", which has existed since February 28, 2019 and together with various partners implements camp projects and various creative initiatives.
This Christmas, millions of Ukrainians will think about survival, not New Year's gifts for children, but we want to give our children a chance to rest a little.
We plan to organize a Christmas camp for children who have suffered or been displaced due to war, in the safety of Slovak mountains. This is an opportunity to momentarily escape from the reality of the Russian war in Ukraine and return to the joy and magic of Christmas :)
What's the plan?
Our initial goal will allow us to take 50 children and give them joyful memories during this most difficult time. What does this winter camp include?
- For those abroad – it's an opportunity to revive some home traditions, speak their own language and again be surrounded by their community.
- For those still living in Ukraine – it will be a safe space for rest and discoveries, a place where you can listen to Christmas carols, not air raid sirens, and an opportunity to breathe freely again and remember life before the war.
Total budget - 11250 EUR/~450 000 UAH
These funds will cover accommodation and meals for 50 children and 10 camp team members for the period January 3-10, 2023. Accommodation, meals and snacks at Hotel Javorna (Slovakia).
This is a beautiful hotel located in the Slovak mountains, guaranteeing a snowy Christmas, hearty home-cooked meals and lots of Christmas treats and snacks. Campers will stay in warm rooms of 3-4 people to ensure peaceful quiet nights.
