"Source of Life" - restoration of public well in Bandurka village
Who we are and why we took this on?
We are an initiative group of Bandurka village residents. We see daily how our community's only historic source is deteriorating, and we can't stand aside. We decided to take responsibility, because we believe: safe access to water isn't luxury, but a basic need we must ensure for ourselves and our children together.
What is the problem?
Today our public well is in emergency condition. The brick structure is crumbling, and the surrounding area is neglected. This creates direct threat of resident injury and risk of water contamination. During possible blackouts or emergencies, losing such facility could be critical for the village.
Our solution
We propose partial restoration of the brick structure and improvement of adjacent territory. The project involves creating a clean and sanitary safe zone that will provide 200+ residents guaranteed water access.
Why is this important for community?
Well restoration has strategic importance for Bandurka:
- Energy independence: In case of power outages or emergencies, this well is the only alternative source of drinking water for entire community.
- Public health: Structure modernization will protect water from dirt and sewage contamination, directly affecting residents' health.
- Sustainability: After restoration the facility will transfer to local community balance, and we, active residents, take responsibility for its further maintenance and cleanliness.
Fundraising goal
To implement the project we need to raise 150,000 UAH. These funds will go toward purchasing construction materials.
