Road to Home
Launched on: 03.02.2016

The Children's Department of the PCF "Road to Home" includes a whole complex of rehabilitation and social adaptation work for street children, children and teenagers from crisis and low-income families, and recently also children from families of forced migrants from the war zone in Eastern Ukraine. Psychologists, social workers, art therapists, teachers, lawyers and other specialists work with children and teenagers in all "Road to Home" centers, depending on their needs.

At the "Big Family" shelter, children from crisis and low-income families, as well as families with children who are forced migrants, are provided with temporary housing and meals in social dormitory. In parallel, children are enrolled in school, and preschoolers are placed in child development and creativity centers "Smile", "Dawn" and "Sprout". Children's leisure at "Road to Home" is ensured by constant work of many clubs, sections and interest groups: dance and theater studio, football section, children's jewelry workshop, cutting and sewing courses, repair and carpentry workshop, pottery studio, art therapy, journalism school, English courses, additional classes in humanities and exact sciences and much more. Not only the Foundation's pupils can participate in clubs and sections, but also guests – the doors of "Road to Home" are always open to everyone.

The PCF "Road to Home" works for the benefit of Odesa and the region in the field of public health. For 16 years, the HIV/AIDS Prevention Department of the PCF "Road to Home" has been implementing many programs aimed at combating the HIV/AIDS epidemic and other socially dangerous diseases. These programs include many components, from providing sterile instruments to testing for HIV, Hepatitis C, tuberculosis. The Foundation implements such programs not only in Odesa, but also in other settlements of the region - Illichivsk and Izmail.

The Foundation cooperates with both state institutions and many leading non-governmental organizations. Foundation specialists constantly participate in meetings of various commissions and initiative groups at different levels of government. Every year, many students from social faculties of Ukrainian and foreign universities do internships at "Road to Home", and volunteers from all over the world come to the Foundation to help children.
