Help boost school governments in Kryvyi Rih

Hi, we're Katya and Danya. An initiative group for boosting school government in a lifelong city – Kryvyi Rih. We have a duck named "Bamble" and we dream to boost it.



Our dream is to help young people create effective school government, which will help them learn to be independent and responsible, use their rights, cooperate with others and take responsibility. This fundraiser will provide 4 trainings for active students 🧡

Have you ever thought how important school government is for forming conscious Ukrainians? Katya knows the answer to this question.

• My name is Katya, I'm a project co-author and I want to tell how school government influenced my civic position and turned my life upside down. In 8th grade I joined school parliament and got certain responsibilities. This activity boosted my communication, critical thinking and resourcefulness skills, particularly, I learned about volunteering and felt its magic. Thanks to this, after finishing 11th grade I understood what I wanted to do. Later, this positively influenced building my career and having a beloved job at 18.

So if this democratic institution gives such a strong push to one young person, imagine what benefit an entire school government in five different schools can get. According to change theory, the long-term impact of this project will be 100% more effective than drums in shelter or ATB in palace of culture.

We consider student government as a process where children and youth learn to make important decisions concerning their life in society. Good student government helps understand how society functions, what rights we have, what we can do to realize our aspirations, and how we can engage in public activity in the future.

The importance of election participation, ability to evaluate school candidates' programs and make the right choice — this forms responsible attitude to the electoral process in adult life.
