Accessible Education and Barrier-Free Development
CF "Equality Platform – Aiva" carries out activities aimed at ensuring equal opportunities, social protection and support for people who need additional social, educational, medical or humanitarian support. One of the key areas of the Foundation's work is supporting children with disabilities and special educational needs and creating an accessible and barrier-free environment in which every child can develop their abilities.
That is why we are launching the project "Accessible Education and Barrier-Free Development" together with our partner — Lyceum "Valora", Odesa.
The idea of the project is simple: we want to help a child with SEN receive the necessary educational and correctional-developmental services regardless of their family's financial situation.
The goal of the project is to raise 125,996 UAH to pay for one semester of education and correctional services for one beneficiary.
For many children, additional specialist support is not a matter of comfort or a parent's wish to give their child "more". It is a real need that determines a child's ability to learn, communicate, adapt to the educational environment and develop essential skills.
But a financial barrier often stands between the need and the ability to receive help. Children with disabilities and SEN require regular sessions with specialists, additional educational support and correctional services. For a family, this becomes a significant financial burden, especially when the need for support is ongoing.
We want to change exactly this — to create conditions in which the educational process adapts to the specific child, their abilities, pace and needs.
Who is this project for? First and foremost — for children with disabilities and SEN who need additional educational or correctional services. At the same time, we want to reduce at least part of the financial burden and give families the sense that they are not facing this need alone.
What will change thanks to the project? Most importantly — it will create an opportunity to help children receive services that, without financial support, may be inaccessible or significantly limited for their families.
By supporting one child, we simultaneously reduce financial barriers to education and development and make a barrier-free environment a more tangible part of our community's life.
Why is this needed right now? In wartime conditions, families face additional challenges, and the need to support children who require special conditions for learning and development does not disappear. It is vital to ensure that children who already face barriers do not find themselves even further from accessible education and the support they need.
It is society, organizations and communities that must create the conditions in which these opportunities become accessible.
We understand that trust in charity is not built through beautiful words alone. It is formed through concrete actions, transparency and accountability. That is why it is important to us that every donor understands what their contribution is directed toward and what opportunity they are helping to create. We ensure transparency in the project's implementation and will keep donors informed about the results of the fundraiser and the use of funds.
