Adaptive sports space "Strength of Unity" in the city of Krolevetsk
We are a team of residents of the Krolevetsk community who have united around the idea of creating an inclusive sports space in the Social Services Center of the Krolevetsk City Council. We are united by experience, trust and faith that a community is not just a territory, but a community of strong people who support each other.
That is why we want to create an adaptive sports space accessible to everyone - people in wheelchairs, veterans with injuries, children with developmental disabilities, their families. In this space they will be able to engage in sports, undergo rehabilitation, communicate, and believe in their strength again. This will be a place of power - both literal and symbolic.
We are submitting this project because we cannot wait. We see the need - and we have a solution. This is our duty - as citizens, as a community, as people. We appeal to everyone who cares - support the creation of a space where those who gave part of themselves for our freedom can restore themselves physically and morally.
Today we already have significant experience: the Social Services Center has opened the "Veteran Space 'Fortress of the Unbroken'" - a support space for veterans funded by UNDP.
Our team consists of specialists from the Youth Sports School "Olymp", veterans, members of the NGO "Krolevetsk Union of ATO Participants", NGO "Krolevetsk Regional Public Organization of Disabled People with Musculoskeletal Disorders 'Shoulder to Shoulder'", social workers and volunteers who constantly interact with people affected by the war.
The community already has over 2,500 people with disabilities and this number is constantly growing. Today over 750 residents of Krolevetsk region are mobilized. We await their return with hope - and at the same time understand: some of them will return with injuries, disabilities, with pain that is not always visible externally. But we know for sure: sport heals support heals, and community restores.
The "Strength of Unity" project is more than a sports hall. This is a place where dozens of people will be able to say to themselves every day: "I can". And this inspires not only them - it inspires all of us.
