In the Paratroopers' Grove in Kropyvnytskyi, a popular recreation spot for citizens, we plan to create a barrier-free sports playground. This green zone is located near the veterans' hospital and next to a children's petting zoo. The space will be accessible to all population groups — veterans, people with disabilities, children, youth and families with children.
The project initiator is the "Veterans' Compass" NGO, which has been supporting veterans and their adaptation to civilian life for several years. We have conducted sports, cultural and educational initiatives, and understand well how important it is to create a place for physical activity, rehabilitation and social interaction.
The playground will include sports equipment adapted to the needs of people with different physical abilities. Here everyone — from veterans to teenagers and elderly people — will be able to improve their physical fitness, maintain emotional well-being and simply spend time actively.
This space will become a meeting point for community residents, promote youth socialization, military rehabilitation, healthy lifestyle support and inclusive environment development in Kropyvnytskyi.
The idea has received broad support from veterans, doctors, local residents and activists. Together we want to make the city open to everyone, regardless of age or physical abilities.
Overall, implementing this project will positively impact local residents' quality of life. People with disabilities will get equal opportunities for sports, veterans will be able to undergo rehabilitation in a comfortable environment, youth will find a place for development and healthy leisure, and families — space for joint active recreation. This will help reduce social isolation, improve residents' psycho-emotional state and form a cohesive, caring community.
