Heat for FAP - heat for people

"Heat for FAP — heat for people" is a non-commercial project aimed at improving the conditions of the feldsher-obstetric point (FAP) in Demydivka village to ensure the possibility of providing professional medical care for community residents.
The project is implemented by the public organization "League of Youth Councils" together with the Youth Congress of Vinnytsia and the Youth Council at Hnivan City Council. The organizations are engaged in developing youth policy and improving competencies and quality of life for youth. NGO "League of Youth Councils" previously implemented various trainings and also created youth space in Khoroshiv community in Zhytomyr region.
FAP in Demydivka (2440 as of 01.01.2022 according to the latest known census of Ukraine) is the only point for providing emergency medical care. Daily it is visited by 15 to 50 people from Demydivka and Mohylivka of different age categories, including children, young parents, elderly people, persons with chronic diseases and veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war. Important is also improving conditions for safe work, forming capacity and improving quality of medical services provided by FAP workers to the population.
The facility can also serve as an Invincibility Point if equipped. Important is also that due to the poor condition of the point, there is a threat of suspension and/or closure, which is a big risk considering the low-mobility population groups using services provided here. FAP may fall under critical infrastructure facility, whose services are used by about 85% of the community population.
According to the World Health Organization there are a number of factors that contribute to quality recovery and counteracting health problems. These include safe environment, accessibility, social, emotional component and others.
The key problem lies in the poor condition of the premises, namely cracks on walls, critical condition of facade and lining, absence of ramps/railings and barrier-free space as such, outdated furnishing and furniture in the premises, which causes non-compliance with sanitary and safety standards. Therefore, the goal is to carry out partial repairs, create a barrier-free environment to improve response efficiency and service quality at Demydivka feldsher-obstetric point for recipients.
Also important is that the city council and Primary Care Center confirm readiness and involvement in processes for attracting additional funding by allocating funds to support the initiative.
The problem of providing quality medical services often and acutely affects the population in communities, so the need to improve conditions in FAP in Demydivka is indisputable.
We are certain that everyone today should have the opportunity to receive professional services, especially medical ones, considering the ongoing Russian armed aggression and the consequences it causes.
Heat for FAP - safety, capability and heat for people.
