Student Open Space: coworking at Odesa Polytechnic

UPD:
To develop culture, it must first be preserved.
With pain in our hearts we watch footage of occupiers destroying cultural-historical monuments in Kharkiv, Kyiv and other cities.
It's hard to believe that ancient architecture, picturesque streets and other places simply disappear from city landscapes. We sincerely love Odesa and don't want this to happen here.
That's why by collective decision with authors of projects "Student Open Space", "History Shelf", "Cook Equatorial Telescope Tower Reconstruction" and "Litera 2.0" it was decided to redirect all collected funds to city defense, namely to support the army and territorial defense.
Total amount is 89,278 hryvnias.
Thanks to all benefactors who supported these projects. Your funds will go to preserving Odesa and its culture. We'll report details about expenses on our social media and website.
Now more and more people work and study remotely. It's convenient, but has drawbacks: in such conditions problems with concentration and activity efficiency may arise. And due to certain isolation it's difficult to generate and develop ideas.
To solve this problem a team of students and graduates of Odesa Polytechnic aims to open a coworking space — not only a place for work, study and rest, but also multifaceted development and informal education.

Such coworking solves a number of student issues and problems, namely:
- lack of learning motivation;
- student procrastination;
- finding like-minded people,
- comfortable conditions for learning processes;
- student self-realization;
- platform for startups.
Student coworking is a place of synergy of diverse people in shared space, uniting ideas and creativity, a startup accelerator.
University administration allocated 3 auditoriums in Odesa Polytechnic Student Culture Palace (Shevchenko avenue, 1a) to students, total area 129 sq.m.

We plan to equip this room and create initial space content with these directions:
- SOFT SKILLS — training "flexible skills" helps students perform their work well. These are communication skills, leadership qualities, self-organization, creativity, stress resistance and many others;
- NETWORK COMMUNITY — constant information exchange between people, uniting common professional or personal interests, improving social entrepreneurship, corporate culture, scientific society, positive ecosystem;
- THEMATIC RESEARCH — generating synergy between university discipline diversity, creating future competencies;
- STUDENT MANAGEMENT — developed youth center, startup space, setting up generational bridge, supporting initiatives and innovations;
- EVENT CLUB — organizing events, production studios, sales department, PR agency, creative activities;
- OPEN SPACE — satisfying needs for necessary conditions for study, work and rest in form of room access, internet, snacks, electricity, heating etc.;
- NETWORK COMMUNITY— workspace for active teams, student self-government bodies, trade union and university activists.
