Setting up anti-stress room "Safety Hugs" for students of the Natural Sciences Lyceum in Kropyvnytskyi

Who are we?

Our Natural Sciences Lyceum is not just an educational institution, it's a place where children explore the world, develop and shape their future. We strive to create a safe space where every student feels support, peace and motivation to learn.

Why are we submitting this project?

Every Ukrainian student today lives in a reality where war has left a deep emotional mark. Anxiety, fear, stress – this is part of their daily life. Air raids, news about combat operations, worries about relatives – all this negatively affects children's psycho-emotional state. We see how this affects learning: decreased concentration, emotional exhaustion, nervous tension.

We want to change this situation and create an anti-stress room in our lyceum – a safe space where students can relax, restore emotional balance and find strength for further learning.

How will the anti-stress room work?

This is a cozy place where children can:

• Reduce stress and anxiety levels – through specially selected sensory elements: color therapy, sound panels, tactile surfaces.
• Restore emotional state – through sessions with a psychologist and art therapy.
• Get emotional rest – during breaks or after the learning process.
• Develop concentration and attention – which will help them better master the material.

Additionally, the room will become a place for educational and corrective sessions with psychologists, where students can learn to manage their emotions and master techniques for overcoming fears.

What opportunities does an anti-stress room in school open up?

• Children will have the opportunity to reduce emotional tension, improve their psychological resilience and learn more effectively.
• Students with high anxiety levels, hyperactivity or emotional exhaustion will be able to improve their condition through special sensory techniques.
• The general atmosphere in the lyceum will improve, as children's emotional state directly affects their relationships, motivation and success.
• Teachers and psychologists will be able to work more effectively with children, using the space for individual and group sessions.
