"Unbreakable community - a space that unites for support and recovery"

The Bilopillia community is located on the border with the aggressor country and faces daily shelling. Constant danger, losses, forced relocations, returning home, and living under constant alert lead to emotional exhaustion of people. This is particularly acute for children, women, and elderly people who need a safe place for support and recovery.
We are inspired by the resilience and unbreakability of local residents who, despite daily shelling, continue to live, work, raise children, and help each other. But even the strongest need a place where they can feel care, support, and human warmth. The danger of traveling far around the city has limited local residents in socialization, visiting public places and recreational areas. Shelters in multi-story buildings, communal and private institutions have become the most frequent gathering places. Creating safe spaces is currently one of the priority areas of work in the community. Setting up such a space in an educational institution shelter, in a densely populated city district, will partially solve the problem by creating conditions for receiving help, comfortable stay, mutual support, and emotional recovery.
This is a proposal to unite caring citizens by creating heating, rest, and communication zones, equipping them with comfortable seating furniture, equipment for making hot tea or coffee, power banks for charging phones, materials and equipment for children's activities, space for staying with pets, and first aid kits for providing first aid.

We propose to unite and join the project to set up a safe space, a place where during 4 years of war city residents gather during air raids, frequent shelling, to wait out danger, receive necessary help, rest, communicate, get distracted, recharge.
For three years, the "Malva" charity has implemented social and humanitarian initiatives aimed at supporting residents of the border Bilopillia city community, internally displaced persons, children, women, and other vulnerable population categories. In 2023, we joined the project "Support and Heating Kitchen for Internally Displaced Persons of the Community," during which we produced dry mixes of borscht, soups, sublimated mashed potatoes, various treats and sweets. In 2025, we created and equipped an educational-rehabilitation center for women in one of the city's municipal institution shelters.
Project implementation will help hundreds of Bilopillia community residents unite, feel support, restore faith in themselves, and find strength to move forward despite all war challenges.
The project "Unbreakable Community - A Space That Unites for Support and Recovery"
will have significant social impact:
- strengthening social cohesion and mutual aid among community residents;
- forming a more resilient and united community;
- reducing stress and anxiety levels in children and adults;
- supporting women, children, and internally displaced persons in restoring internal resources;
- drawing attention to the need for responsible treatment of pets, who also suffer from war consequences and have the right and opportunity to be in safe places;
- equipping safe spaces with equipment, items, and materials will ensure more comfortable stay for city residents in shelters.
