"ECO-LIBRARY" of CHORNOMORSK - giving things a second life and learning to consume responsibly!
Why does Chornomorsk need an «ECO-Library»?
Imagine: you're just starting independent life or creating a family. Every hryvnia matters... And at this moment a place appears where you don't need to buy — but can borrow temporarily. Where things serve longer. Where support is the norm. The «ECO-Library» will become exactly such a place.
We buy tents for one hike, tools for one repair or equipment we use only a few times. Then these things take up space in our homes, gather dust on shelves or eventually end up in landfills.
This is wasted money, cluttered housing and unnecessary waste.
That's why we want to create an «ECO-Library» in Chornomorsk community – a library of things. This will be a space where you can rent necessary tools, repair broken items, attend workshops and become part of the city's conscious community.
This is especially important today, when rational use of resources and mutual assistance become critically necessary. As of February 20, 2026, almost 30% of Chornomorsk community residents belong to socially vulnerable population categories.
Who are we?
We are a team of specialists and eco-activists united by a common goal – preserving Chornomorsk's environment.
Chornomorsk City Council Executive Committee – institutional partner and coordinator of city development and recovery initiatives, supporting projects aimed at forming ecological culture and active eco-community in the community.
NGO «Ecological News» has been working for over 5 years to preserve the environment in Ukraine. The organization has experience implementing conscious waste management projects, develops educational online courses and supports Zero Waste principles.
NGO «Ecotherapy» – an active community of Chornomorsk eco-enthusiasts that organizes area cleanups, care for green spaces, collection of used batteries and promotes healthy lifestyle.

What will we create together with you?
Your donations will help implement the project in two stages:
Space preparation: room renovation and furnishing it with furniture and shelves.
Filling and launch: resident surveys, purchasing the first batch of tools (from screwdrivers to steam cleaners) and conducting educational events.
The «ECO-Library» will become a multifunctional hub for item rental, repair workshops and like-minded meetings.
Project's social impact:
ECOnomic benefit – residents can save money on buying items they use rarely.
ECOlogical result – reduction of household waste through sharing culture and reuse.
New skills and unity – people will learn to repair equipment and interact more with each other.
