Code Club UA. National network of programming clubs

We created a project where volunteers teach children to write computer programs in their free time from lessons. Club meetings happen once a week in schools, libraries or IT offices and last 1 hour 30 minutes. In Code Club children learn to program by creating computer games, animation and websites. The program involves creating one project per lesson.
Code Club was created in Great Britain by web designer Clare Sutcliffe and programmer Linda Sandvik in April 2012. Now Code Club exists in 45 countries worldwide, from USA and Brazil to Australia and New Zealand. Ukraine was the first country where the first programming clubs opened in 2013.
We hope Ukrainian schoolchildren and volunteers will also appreciate the benefits of Code Club programs and become their active participants.
During the 2015-2016 school year we managed to open more than 70 new locations throughout Ukraine. And 84 volunteers joined our volunteer team. Today, our club is represented in 17 regions of our country, where about 2300 children study.
Project partners are major IT and business companies of Ukraine: TA Venture, TAS Group, Epam, Sigma Software, My City, Cogniance, Depositphotos, IT Cluster Odessa, AIIA, HYS Enterprise, Rabota.ua, Terrasoft, Trionika and many others.
