RoboSchool: robotics course for students

We are surrounded by many devices without which we can no longer imagine our lives. Many processes are automated, so we must teach children this now so that they become more sought-after specialists in the future. Children must be able to apply knowledge in practice — solve competency tasks, have critical thinking, and be able to express their thoughts competently in any language. Our children need 21st century skills.
The project will enable children to learn to control robots, master or improve programming skills, understand how electronics and various equipment work.

IT2School and SchoolSMART have the same goals.
We combine our knowledge, experience and plans in this project.
* IT2School — is a community of IT professionals and educators providing free programming and modern technology skills training to school-age children. The Atom Space children's IT space is open for digital creativity and child development.
* SchoolSMART — is an All-Ukrainian school that creates innovative interdisciplinary STEM projects with students in grades 3-11. Created microelectronics laboratories allow implementing IoT concepts, Smart Home technologies, Smart Growing, creating robots, weather stations, etc.

We want to see our children smart, developed, able to make decisions, loving their city — exactly such children will develop our state's economy, will care and think about their health, the environment, ecology.
Over 7 months we will teach children to program, control robots, create projects in practice.

Training will take place at Atom Space and Odessa Elementary School #82.
It's important for us that children can apply knowledge in practice. Using robots as examples, we'll show them why programming is needed, how to apply math knowledge, why physics is needed, etc.

Each robot will be individual and have its own logo. We can choose logos from sponsor participant proposals. With full robot sponsorship purchase, we'll place the purchasing company's logo on the robot.

The course will run from January to May. Children aged 11-15 will be able to participate.
Children's final project presentations will take place on June 1st.

The project will enable children to learn robot control, improve programming skills, understand electronics and various equipment.
By acquiring a working robot model, we can awaken interest in independent design and robotics, in using information communication technologies and programming.
First, we'll satisfy curiosity, boundless interest and desire to explore, model, construct. In December, as advertising, our team will conduct several one-time open lessons and workshops for city students and teachers.
The course is designed for approximately 10 lessons, so by the end of the 2017-2018 school year we expect the first graduates.
The compiled curriculum is based on lessons (lesson example) provided by ERC. Prepared lessons will be corrected and adapted for children as needed.
From January we plan to start enrollment in the first group, with training at AtomSpace. Simultaneously, All-Ukrainian project SchoolSMART participants, 9-A class students, will program robots at their school #82 (Smart Florarium).
Children who completed training at IT2School and can program in SCRATCH (projects-1, projects-2) are our potential students.
